and thanks for any helpSDC13943.JPG

Have you got credits on the game, and three balls in the outhole?

If yes to both, check all the outhole switches are making contact, and the start button switch registers too.

Hope that helps.....

Some bally / Williams games of that period won't start until you have entered the settings (even though they already have the default settings installed)...

start button switch??? wheres that or do you mean credit button thats number 6 that registers ok.

it says got 8 credits

moonraker entered the settings ?

Bigian tried the flippers still nothing

No you haven't, credits will show as 08 in the display it showing some sort of fault code but I don't know what they mean.

I'd say the 8s in the credit display is just a display fault rather than a symptom of anything else.....

I could be wrong though, but to check plug one of the other displays in its place and see what it says then. The others are 7 digit and the credit / match is 6 but that doesn't matter for this test!

tried that changed it to top right and it had 8 and 88
reckon the chip is no good waiting for some led displays off luke,
might change the chip not to worried led displays are better
thanks for replies:) keep them coming:thumbs:

Try reading the manual on ipdb:
http://mirror2.ipdb.org/files/2723/vector_manual_rev.pdf

Self test button to activate various settings. Page 13 of 59 says pressing the test button 6 times allows you to adjust the replay level (set it to 10,000 to help keep the credits on the game, unless you have the freeplay roms installed). Page 18 of 59 explains more about the game diagnostics. I would cycle through them at least once and don't by pass by switching the machine iff and on again.

the first thing I would do is reseat all the mpu connectors, and restart,as already mentioned vector wont start unless all 3 balls are present

is there to much power or to little power to the displays ?

just that there is a 3 numbers in players 1-3

turn the blue pot up or down and see if that 3rd number disapears (on sol board )

reseat all the mpu connectors, first thing i did new male and female molex connectors

SDC13947.JPG replaced ic numbers ok now in credit window
