just got a monopoly pinball worked for a few hours then dmd went dead all lights started flickering off and on. Now every time you turn it on this is all that happens. Read online it's something to do with the voltage gojng to the board being below 5v or something like that. But I'm at a loss and pretty upset about the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated or if anyone lives in East london/ Essex area that can help it would be amazing. Cheers in advance everyone

I found the r116 do I just unscrew that? Or tighten the screw?

have you amultimeter with machine off turn screw inwards slightly find 5 volt test point multimeter set to dc turn machine on black leadvoltage goes up small adiustments if it wont rise board needs repairing to ground red to test pointand see if

Don't move it unless you have a multimeter to measure what you are doing. This increases or decreases the 5v. Don't adjust it unless you know that it is low. You can only of this with a multimeter.

I don't have one in not gonna do anything got a repair guy but he can't get out for a few weeks

A CPU can reset if the 5v is too low. The 5v is made on the lower board, the CPU uses the 5v on the upper board. If there are poor connections between the two boards, the 5v can decrease over the connections between the two. Reseat the power connectors, these are on the upper edge of the lower board, and lower edge of the upper board. These have primarily black and red wires. With the power off remove and replace these connectors to improve electrical contact. If this doesn't help, turn off and remove and replace the short grey ribbon cable. Be careful not to replace it 'over one row'.

I had a LOTR that did the same thing on occasions.

Each time I ended up reseating the connections on the boards in the backbox (removing and refitting each connector one at a time) and that cleared the fault for a while. Maybe worth a try?

Tried all of this just lights come on Dmd does nothing anymore. And no sign of booting up

If you can take a picture of the MPU (upper right board), in particular the upper right hand corner where the batteries live and post it on here...

Here's a few pics

Would help to have a closer one of the first picture but it does appear to be clean so you can probably rule out battery acid damage as the cause....

I'm trying my best!

This was a swap deal part of which was me moving the machines, so on Wednesday I delivered the Monopoly from Bristol to Essex. We set the game up and all looked ok and I'm very sorry there are now problems. We've been in constant contact since, I hadn't posted on this thread because I didn't have anything to add - the limit of my suggestions were largely reseating chips and checking connectors, etc.

I'd replaced the game rom with the newest version immediately before packing the game up so I've sent the old rom to try that.

I've also offered to pay for the local repair guy and / or Andy N looking at the boards.

Andy

Sounds more than fair. These things don't like being moved, think of all the vibration. Plus the timing of that ROM swap has gotta make it a suspect for any line up.

Hope it gets fixed up soon

Just waiting on a response from Andy N see what he says, also gonna try the rom when it arrives

New issue now the game won't even try and boot up just all the lights come on and nothing happens no sound, no attempt to even boot the game.

This is what happens when you turn it on

Can't say fairer than that mate. It's unfortunate but that's the reality of pinball ownership. One transport later it stops working.
Stupid bloody hobby !!

Haha tell me about it. My wife tells me in a regular basis how stupid it is. Think she might be right

Have tried unplugging everything and plugging it all back in again. All lights come on and all red lights in boards come on. Including the Dmd. Just still not attempting to boot up
