Hi I am painfully having to sell my AC/DC Luci huo. This machine is in mint condition. As anyone looking for one of these will know they rarely come up for sale and for what people know there was less than 200 produced.

Only selling as need the money for my build project that has gone over budget due to wife wanting a better kitchen! :(

Pictures to follow, I would be looking for around £7500.

Really don't want to sell but must keep the wife happy!

Sadly this was out of my price range but thank you to @BigBear77 for considering me and to the other forum guys for the nudge. Good luck with the sale, a good price for a mint huo rare machine....personally I'd sell my car for this but the missus thinks we need it for getting about and all that, I reminded her sainsburys deliver now but there's no pleasing some people....

For such a successful machine AC/DCs just don't seem to come up. There was a small flurry of them 2 years ago or so when I picked my one up and then pretty much nothing.. I know my one is going nowhere. Great game when you know what you're doing. :)

Thanks I did offer it to him but was looking for a trade.

I will get pictures on tonight. Does anyone know how to check how many plays on new stern machine?

Should be in Audits, then Total Plays when you go into test.

Depends if the software has been updated at any point, if you put new chips in or update it via USB I think it resets back to 0.

I was interested until I saw the price :eek:Thought these would be around £5-5.5k. Didn't realise they would be in the TronLE price bracket.
Good luck with the sale though.

I think price is the fair. I certainly need to pimp up my Pro a bit as its a bit sparse but even those are not coming up for sale. there was a spate of Premiums for sale when the game was about 2 years old but now nothing.

Fact it is a top title in great Nick says your all talking boll&£cs, now back in black is a different story.

And Steve a pro the Kia of acdc ,unfortunately from people I have spoken to a very poor machine in comparison to the better models like this lovely Example

I sold mine for 5.4k and thought I did well. Now look at the price. Should have kept it in the box :)
The artwork was cool but I don't know why it didn't sell well for Stern. I guess AC/DC fans prefer the other models. It surprises me that any Stern machine would go up in value considering they haven't changed the design in twenty years :)

Wait...is Lucy a pro or a premium feature wise?

Never mind, just saw the photos. Never paid attention before, always just " thought " it was a pro lol.

I may be wrong about this but I am under the impression that it was the other way round: there were enough people who liked the game but not the original artwork to make the Luci variant, which catered to that small subset of people. It was a niche product that was brought out to make a couple of hundred extra sales. And while the artwork is really nice in my opinion it really can't have cost much to produce it. It appears to have been done on the cheap: the left side cabinet artwork is just a mirror of the right, so Luci's tattoo is on her right udder on the right hand side of the cab, but on her left udder on the left hand side.

Probably didn't sell well because it was near the end of the run, most who were going to buy new would have already bought an LE or a premium.

Sounds about right. Stern company motto - done on the cheap but we'll charge you more :)
They need some new innovation in their product line but that's not going to happen while their main market is commercial based.

Considering the price of new sterns now, that Luci is looking good value.

maybe I will get a PREM LE eventually but I needed ANY ACDC for folks to play and even that was tricky to find. From what I been led to believe the license on ACDC has expired so Stern wont be making any more of any version so my logic was grab a PRO hope for a PREM/LE in the future. Bit of a downer they are my favourite band and its the Stern where the PRO offers the least compared to other versions. I certainly don't free any need to upgrade MET PRO to a LE for instance and will quite happily live with a TRON PRO or ST PRO

Luci is now sold :( will be sad to see it go but wife comes first as always! Can someone give me the pay-pal details for the site to give some money towards the forum for selling it on here.

Thanks Everyone

Rupert

Yeah the Luci was right at the end of the run. I put an order in with Phil and I remember there being some discussion about should I wait, because there were rumours of an ACDC 'Gold' style re-run. When I saw the Luci at EAG I was actually quite relieved that I didn't really like the artwork as much as the standard Premium

However, if I knew then what I know now... It might have swayed me more. But I still think the Luci artwork is a bit overtly sexualized and therefore 'tacky' :)

Gone to a good home, made a donation to the forum.

Shame to see here go but needs must to keep wifey happy! :)

Thanks :)

It was intended to make high hundreds, per the other Premiums. Instead, it was under 200 ... supposedly ~197.

The problem was that Stern lost the license before more could be made. To renew the license, it would have cost vastly more .... AC/DC, after seeing the game do well, wanted what their brand was worth. Stern weren't willing to completely wreck the scale they work on, so there won't be any re-runs of AC/DC. Hence also why prices are ballooning ... particularly on the Luci, which is much more limited than the LEs were (also why Stern won't comment on Luci numbers).

Where does that number of 197 come from?
Several people on Pinside independently said it.

It would appear reliable given that one of them is a copyright lawyer who's familiar with their licensing travails, and revealed the latter information in my post. I was also told by two distributors in Europe (before that post was made) that it was in the 190s.
