Metallica metal post/diverter

Have any Metallica owners on here replaced the plastic diverter post at the top of the playfield with a metal one? I never realised that the post is supposed to pop up to divert the ball into the pop bumbers. Shots up the left orbit on mine return the ball back down the left orbit 100% of the time instead of to the pops. The right orbit returns it about 10% of the time.

Yes, I've ordered and fitted it. Makes such a difference.
Can't remember the exact part, but I followed the links on Pinside as well.
