Having a few problems with balls getting stuck in the drain and not rolling along far enough for the game to realise that the ball is dead on my TOTAN game.

The drain is metal, i have cleaned it thoroughly and still the problem persists ...

I was wondering if maybe the balls could have got magnetised from the electro magnets in the game over a period of time, and are clinging onto the drain housing ?

anyone had anything similar ?

though i would ask before i order new balls

Put the balls on the glass of another game, resting on the lockdown bar. You can then gently pull the balls along and see if they drag other balls along.

Is it an opto trough? there's a plastic liner you can get for B/W opto troughs to prevent these hangups, I fitted one to my Shadow. Think they're about £7 delivered from Pinballmania.

Edit, they're £10 now plus delivery http://pinparts.co.uk/products/ball-trough-sleeve
Yes its an opto trough... i have just swopped the balls with my flintstones machine and the problem seems to be cured.. i think i might order the plastic mod to avoid future issues

thanks again for your help :-)

Yes, this absolutely happens and will on a game like TOTAN that has magnets installed if you put in standard balls, it will happen after a period of time.

I believe you will want some of these.

You can get them from various places. Seen them called "Carbon Steel" balls I think before.
