Looking for my first pinball machine. Wanting to spend under £1000 on it and don't mind doing some work to it as a project. Having no luck finding anything on ebay. Located in Lincolnshire and do have a van to collect.

Thank you.
Darren.

Hi Darren

I had the same addams for 15 years but have been trying to buy additional games for the last three months. So far I gave picked up vector and tz. Both from eBay. Both have yielded nasty surprises. Buying from folk on eBay who do not know what they are doing with pinballs is risky

To give the guys a hand, have you fixed up a pin before ?

What sort of age game you after ?

A grand gets you access to plenty of pins

Thanks for replying.
Never fixed up pinballs before but I'm quite mechanically minded and tend to work with electronics in my trade. It will be abit of a project really. Wouldn't want to pick up a complete electrical nightmare though. Looking for a 90+ machine as I've heard they're more reliable.

The newer games also have better diagnostics that make finding problems easier. Key thing for you to decide is whether you want a dmd game or not. Dmd games go for a lot more money

Just keep your eye on the for sale pages on this forum. There was a bride of pinbot for sale on here 900 nr chesterfield for example as a non dmd game

1000 probably gets you into a fish tales needing some tlc as a dmd game

I have a data East WWFRR that I would consider selling. It's in fantastic condition, there's pics and info on here somewhere, just search for WWFRR.

It does have some general illumination out. So there is a bit of a project there for you!!

Pm me if you're interested and we'll duke it out

Cheers
Gaz

I have a few machines id part with..

Rocky and Bullwinkle in decent condition
or
Hook. playfield in great condition, cabinet is ropey

Either would be less than £1k, infact you could nearly get both..

Im in Belfast though which might cause problems for picking up.

There's a few good Bally/Williams 90's DMD pins you should be able to get for no more than a grand - World Cup Soccer, High Speed 2 The Getaway, Flintstones etc. If you wait long enough something will come up on here.

Awww man. I need your RnB in my life @BigIan
Location is a bit of a stumbling block though. There must be a way!!

Good luck with your search @darren_ross There are lots of great sub 1k games around. Your first machine is pretty exciting! Have fun dude.

I understand @lukewells has a Strange Science pin, fully workshopped for under a grand. In Blackpool. I've tagged him for you. :)

I would also be interested in a Rocky 'n' Bullwinkle if it weren't in Belfast. I have only seen one on ebay in the past six months. I have an Independence day and they are a good first table. Not overly complicated and mine has been pretty reliable for the past 2 years. I am not selling mine but I've seen them sell for around £700 - £750. I got a Popeye for £795 recently and its also good fun. If you haven't been to Tilt Coffee House in Leicester for an event then you should go as the regulars are a great bunch to know.

Dont be in too much of a hurry to buy, and watch out for junk on Ebay, you are best off buying one from an enthusiast on a forum like this. There have been quite a few machines for sub £1000 lately, so keep an eye out as something you fancy will come along eventually

Hello Darren. I have a Popeye in cracking condition you may be interested in. The DMD gassed, so I purchased a replacement on the group, here. If you really want a project, though, I have a Date East Batman in full working order with the playfield removed, with the idea being to tart it up and pop it back in, as I couldn't find a new playfield. That was two years ago and I've not had time to touch it since, so if you're interested, give me a shout. All the parts are boxed up. By the way, don't worry about buying from BIgIan, just because he's in Belfast. Shipping is surprisngly reasonable and definitely sub £100 for one pin. I can give him details if he needs decent shippers. Also, he seems like a top guy! Good luck.

Less than 100 seems like a cracker. I'm going to go with one of John's machines though. Will be heading his way on Saturday.
I'm very surprised how helpful everyone has been on here. Wasn't expecting any replies. Has been brilliant. Top forum :)

Nice one. Have fun!

You'll have to invite all the locals round to have a play on it then ;-)

Blimey. That's four pinball owners I know of in grimsby now. Quite a little club we've got going on. A few more and a local league might be in order (era, that's once I've got mine rebuilt of course).

GY Pinball club! Ooh yeah

It's a shame there aren't any machines in the arcades in cleethorpes for a local meetup :(

Any of you coming along to NERG in June?

ive been around most of them several times last year and never seen a pinball. Only one ive not properly walked round is "KingPin" which is a little bowling alley 100mtrs or so away from the rest of the arcade down the promenade

Been round all of the arcades in cleethorpes. Not one pinball machine. Alot of run down and switched off shoot 'em ups and knackered old kids rides. Not sure if noble amusements in town will have any machines?
