Pretty much back together and appears to all work ok. Still have the following to do.

- install mirror blades
- secure new blue topper dome
- install new ramp switch
- secure new audio board psu
- replace a backbox light board chockblock with nice crimped connector

But not far off being done. :)

Looking good, I rather liked this pin, altough haent played it in ages.

Yeah it’s deffo one of my favs, nice and simple can just jump on it and have some fun, love the audio okokokokokok

It just tonight started doing something weird kicking extra balls into play when mid game so need to try and debug that now DOH must be a bad switch in shooter lane or something :(

So still got issues with the game putting extra balls into play mid game but pretty sure iv worked it out. It appears when its trying to flash the flashers its firing the shared coil instead ie the AB relay is not switching when the machine wants to flash rather then fire the coil. I have noticed no flashers when it goes wrong and the flasher test just fires coils. So for some reason the AB relay is not switching but seems to be at random. I will remove that pcb and take a look at the solder joints / relay etc.. can either be a lose socket maybe or dry joint or bad relay/ drive transistor. All of which pretty easy to fit :)

So are you thinking the L/R Relay is faulty in general, then you would see no flashers (apart from Building not on L/R) and things like the drop target resets and knocker would activate when they shouldn't. I think you can test the L/R relay in the diagnostics.

That's exactly what i'm now seeing :)
I couldn't see a test but might of missed it, will look again tonight, I know the system 11 machines have a nice test for there version of this relay.

I only have DE Hook which is super reliable so I'm rarely in the diagnostics :p - it could be under coil test if not you can defo cycle the Flashers though which would prove the point:thumbs:

Flashers fire coils so deffo something up with that relay :) Is this hook of yours for sale??? :D I have no room now but would love to have one next year once double garage extension is built :p

Ah yes a shroud probably not a bad shout as is 230v on bottom part of that PSU! I shall see what I can find :)

Doesn't the Playfield count as a shroud?
The new PSU just for audio board to fix the audio attract mode hum lives in back box it’s very hard to reach unless you have speaker panel removed but always best to add as much protection as possible.

I wiggled a few cables and reseated connectors in backbox on the power boards and flashers are now back so not sure if just a lose connector but will keep an eye on it :)

Absolutely love LW3 and really enjoying your refurb thread, keep up the good work and keep posting plenty of pics
cheers
Stef

Thank you :) Will post some more photos tonight, I want to swap out the nasty choc block with a nice crimp connector :)

One question, what size machine screw does the micro switches take to attach them to the various ramps (ie main ramp entrance)

- swapped out nasty choc block with nice connector :)
- replaced a blown flasher
- replaced the missing micro switch, just need 2 nuts to hold it on :)

whilst pinball mainia is closed for xMas been using this company for bolts they are fantastic which basically next day delivery https://www.accu.co.uk/

Just need to secure my blue replacement dome to the top of the backbox then the machine is pretty much done :)

Diagnostics says no faults :D

The pf is in really nice shape and now with new plastics / rubbers and most metal parts cleaned and tumbled it’s a really nice game. I think the cabinet would clean up nice if you wanted to fully restore it and have a really clean LW3

Nice work did you get to sort out that problem with the extra ball coming into play
Currently thinking it was a loose connector as after reseating a few connectors it’s now fixed and been behaving it self since :) So not saying that was 100% the problem or it won’t do it again but appears to have fixed it :)

Hope to get this done and dusted this week as need to get the machine sold and out the door as bringing the NBAFB/Earthshaker down into dinning room as GF wants to have a move around upstairs and I lose my games room :( But guess dinning room is now the new games room LOL can fit 3 machines + dinning room table so not to bad :)

Yup got my little angle bracket mounts for new dome today in the post so will try and sort that out, and the nuts are turning up tomorrow :)
