Lower left flipper gets “stuck” - Demo Man

I have a lovely DM that I will try to sell shortly but its only problem is that the lower left flipper sometimes gets stuck “up”. It often releases within a second or two and as soon as a ball hits it, it readjusts and works fine. Doesn’t always happen and, in truth, it doesn’t really affect game play but are there any suggestions as to how to cure. The flipper spring seems fine

I would guess it's binding between the flipper and playfield (looks like a protector is fitted too?) I would check you have a little up and down play on the flipper bat, loosen the pawl underneath and give it a little more slack.

You’ll be able to tell if it’s binding on the playfield just by looking at it next time it sticks, is it caught topside or not. If not then it’ll be binding inside the coil instead, new coil stop and sleeve and inspect the plunger for signs of wear or mushrooming on the end. Probably wouldn’t hurt to change the flipper bushing as well, they’re dead cheap.

I meant bushing not playfield, just check there is some lateral up/down slack. Failing that it'll be inside the coil as Taxiturn says.

Thanks. Will try and sort at the weekend
