Found it! Lotr

For what it’s worth I sold mine for £5k on this site early last year and it was in really lovely condition with a fair few mods and colour DMD. Price will only have appreciated since then. I would guess closer to £6k for a similar condition machine (without warranty obviously)

Going off topic slightly to ask why non skill post?

I had it in my head that people just disconnected the skill posts if they didn't want to use them.
No skill post would be the ideal version for me. However if I couldn’t find one the skill post one would do me perfectly.

The extra buttons are the unsightly part for me personally but it’s not a massive issue either.

Wtf are skill posts Iv heard the term used before in a white water thread but couldn’t figure it out, are they posts that move somehow? Any one got some photos? :)

In 1997 the UK government classed pinball machines as gambling, so to operate them you needed a gambling licence. This is because of the chance element with the drain Sega / stern got round this by implementing posts that pop up on the left and right lane blocking the ball from draining and a centre middle bumbper that pops up by pressing the left and right button together. All UK Sega and stern games up to 2004 have them. LOTR, Simpsons, elvis, Ripley I believe the sorpranos was the last one. In 2004 the UK law changed and excluded pinballs as gambling devices.

Skill posts are not a biggie. If they bother you remove the extra flipper buttons and put the metal plate protectors over them Mr Palmer sells.

The centre skill post is like the saver post on family guy. The two outlane ones you wont notice.....

LOTR are being advertised for silly money.

Found one on eBay for £6833 + 180 postage….. but it’s in the Czech Republic.
Cheaper that HLD but still quite pricey I think.
Have you watched video? That is not an 8/10 cab or 8/10 playfield.

Also are the legs williams legs? If they are the machine will be the wrong height.

Put lipstick on a pig - it is still a pig.

Think someone else may of mentioned VAT as well, plus duty and hassle. I would add 23% for approxination. £8625.

You may as well pay £10K for the minter on here - but sorry - in my mind - LOTR a £10K game? NO WAY I can get MM for that!

Unfortunately my lead has gone cold.
So I’m still after one.

I’m guessing just bump this thread every couple of weeks and keep my fingers crossed is the way forward.

Thank you for everyone’s input and to Alan for asking the question.
