Hi all, I’m looking for a Lotr preferably without skill posts in good cosmetic condition if possible as I haven’t really got space to do and woodwork/decals.

I don’t mind so much if the mechanics/electrical needs a bit of work as I’ve got a sttng that’s a real learning curve but I’m quite enjoying.

Don’t know if they come up very often so may well be peeing in the wind 😆

Not 100% on how much they go for but HLD have what looks a really nice one without skill and with warranty for just under £8000. But that seems expensive to me.

Please let me know if anyone would consider parting with one or has any input on the subject.

Any help is much appreciated,
Martyn.

Good luck with your search, they do come up. Don't think you'll find one under £4k. Non-skillpost is quite sought after so a really nice non-skillpost with ColorDMD and mods will probably be closer to £6k.

Non UK skill posts are difficult as they are a grey import, all the official LoTR UK ones have them except for the limited edition, expect to pay minimum £4.5k upwards.

You might get a player condition one, high use, bit ropy for £4k

I haven't seen one for sale on here since mine about a year ago which went for 3,800 in about two seconds, however it had bad salt damage on most of the metal which has all been replaced at quite a high cost 🙂

I’d ideally like a pretty stock one to be honest so I can put my stamp on it and to my tastes.
Also don’t mind a player’s condition one as long as it does need body work and re decaling.
So would £4-5 k get me that do you think?

I paid £5.5k for a LoTR with no skill posts, in beautiful condition, in around September last year.

It was advertised on here, but I really wanted one so I jumped on it quite fast.

Looks like you were quick of the mark and got lucky there.
Stuff like the corrosion you had wouldn’t bother so fingers crossed there’s something similar out there 🤞

Oh I wasn't "lol" I traded it as a straight swap for my STTNG. I just happened to know it's history

Found one on eBay for £6833 + 180 postage….. but it’s in the Czech Republic.
Cheaper that HLD but still quite pricey I think.

Hmmm, without seeing that in person would be quite a gamble, any issues probably very little support or way of getting money back..
Also EVERYTHING is cheaper then HLD :D

Plus there’s 20% vat . Didn’t count that 🤦‍♂️

I know of at least one official non skill post UK edition, late run before the LE, @VeeMonroe can vouch for that.

Not true there was a later release in the UK (2005) that didn't have skill posts, so there are a few that are not grey imports.

Apologies, I didn't realise they did a later run of that machine, I think the UK skill posts where retired around 2005

Going off topic slightly to ask why non skill post?

I had it in my head that people just disconnected the skill posts if they didn't want to use them.
