Stunning example, low mileage , NON skill post version (the one to get unless you like the egg) colour DMD, UV flipper kit, RGB speaker kit, zero pf wear, cab is an absolute peach, plays like new, easily one of the nicest in the UK, reluctant sale but have a couple of machines tomb stoned that I want to pull out of hiatus, it also has the green path of the dead light fitted and the Arawen plastic protector, if you notice the usual wear areas on the LOTR........ ball drain, shooter lane ball kickout area, where ball drops from Arawen plastic on to the wood trough, the round recessed wood ball kicker area, plastic ring surround/insert, they are all fresh /unworn, machine smells like Stern inside the cab (I don't mean like Gary BTW), I am already in two minds whether to part with it as I know I will be hard pushed to find another with as little wear/play in future, machine was a show piece originally and the buyer lost the coindoor keys so the glass was never removed (they put circa 20 games on it), it has only had one owner who played more than 50 games on it (Jagman) and it is obvious from the shooter lane that is the case, Sterns are renowned for wearing here and it is the 1st place to look when estimating Stern machine mileage.
I am going to initially hold out for the asking price , if it fails to make that I will reduce the price/consider offers or keep it, no trades thank you (all depends on offers and how I feel at the time, I rarely sell any keepers out of my collection), I have seen many LOTR's over the last 14 years and this one is up there with the best, so if you want a top 10 Stern and an appreciating classic, this one is a good option, cab art is as good as you are going to get, boards are all lovely and free from any acid leak or damage (will fit a remote battery holder when I get a minute and advise anyone with a machine without one to do the same, a quid will save you loads of mulla)
