Lost scores - nothing else

Quick question.
I turned on Pinbot today to find the scores had been wiped, but all the settings remained as they were, even a replay credit was left on it. Any ideas for this partial amnesia?

Not the end of the world about my scores but just wondering if this is a warning sign of anything.
New batteries were put in at the start if the year.

Recently did minor cosmetic work on visor bank, but no disconnecting of any wires or such.

Don't know if it's the same on PinBot but my Fish Tales (and other WPC games) default to a re-set of the high scores every 250 games unless you change that in options or turn it off altogether.

On early system 11 games the high score reset usually has a default of 3,000 games, adjustable in steps of 1,000. The values installed when the reset operates can also be adjusted. They're called 'back-up high score' 1 through 4 in the adjustment settings.

Further to this, I've just observed my F-14 operate the high score reset; the automatic reset can only occur when the program starts up, with the reset counter at zero. So long as the machine isn't turned off, put into test, or slam tilted, the counter can remain at zero for a while with the existing scores being displayed. I suppose that if someone got a huge score with 1 play left on the reset counter, they'd be a bit miffed if it reset for the next game.

On the other hand, though, I remember a Haunted House which had an automatic reset of the retained highest score when it was raised above 970,000 (close to the machines' maximum of 999,990). On starting the next game it would reset to 770,000. Since no initials were involved, I quite liked that.
