i have created this space for 7 of my machines.

This room used to have two fluorescent lights, either side of the wood beam down the middle of the ceiling. The one that is still there causes horrendous reflections on the games it is vertically above

What is the best type of lighting for this kind of space please ?

Ceiling lights preferable, as I have two cables already there. Dimmable would make sense.

Aim adjustable spots at the beam ? Put lights above the walkway down the middle ?

Thanks

Mount a baton on the beam then long strips of leds up lighting the ceiling. Good as long as you don't ever want to read in the room

I am fitting these David into my gameroom rebuild. You can pay a bit more and get them dimmable.

You can get them cheaper if you shop around.

I have bought three standard ones to light the room when I am in there but I am also fitting RGB LED lights, on a seperate circuit, on top of the panels (so that the actual LEDs are hidden from view) and these will be used to light the room when I am playing.

Why not try something like this, if you must have ceiling lights. They can be twisted and turned in whatever direction you need.

My preference would be uplighters though, either wall attached or from the floor. They had this at the Belgian Open - not a single ceiling light, so no reflections on any machines. However it did cause a few issues with some of the more dimly lit playfields
