Lifting/removing playfield?

Hi guys,

I am cleaning my Junk Yard pinball machine, and I need to get to a bolt which is in the back left corner of the machine. The only way I can see to get to it (without removing the whole ramp) is to lift the back of the playfield slightly.

When I have recently done this on a Stern machine, it just lifted up. However, on this machine it feels like it is held down by the mechanism. I have with it pulled out fully (in locked position) and pushed back in slightly so it is not locked.

Any ideas?

Many thanks, Mark

Push it back further, you'll probably find it'll only lift off the runners when there's barely room to get your hand down the back to lift it.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies - it is odd as my Stern machine lifts right up off the rails, but the Junk Yard seemed to be held down my the lock mechanism no matter how much you try. As suggested, I think it might lift off when pushed back into the playfield, but when it is that far back you can't reach in even on a chair.

Still , the good news is I did it the hard way by removing the whole ramp assembly, which allowed me to access the bit I needed. I have never seen such a dirty machine, but the good news is it is cleaning up very nice and will look great when it's finished!

Thanks again,

Mark
