Ok so this may have been asked before. I have changed the back box bulbs to led bulbs in a couple of pins early last year.
they were supposed to be just like ordinary 555 and 44. They look ****!!!
are there actually any good leds that look like ordinary bulbs or am I stupid.
I don’t want leds on the table just back box.
can’t remember where I got these but pretty much good for the bin as everyone tells me they look rubbish.
any help appreciated.

Thanks
steve

They look ****!! Doesn’t really give us much info - are they too bright, too dim? Did you want to recreate the look of incandescents? (Then get warm white not cool white). What brand/type did you buy?

Comet Leds are the ones most folk recommend. I’ve bought Comet and never had a problem. They have a wide variety of choice.

i’ve bought cheaper chinese ones with a variety of results, some are close to comets, others are total trash. I’ve even made the mistake of buying #44 DC led bulbs which don’t work too well in a pinball (the positive is the inner contact, whereas most bally feature lamps have the positive on the outer as the common wire is the positive.

post a pic of what you’ve been using

Perhaps its worth getting a few different styles to see which ones you prefer? Everyone has different preferences, in the backbox I find the SMD ones a little too bright, a mix of cheap warm and cool frosted ones looks best to me and give a nice glow without being too bright.

Thanks for the replied guys. I can’t remember where I got them but definatly not comet.
They are Supposed to be the same as incandescent bulbs and warm white but. I thing like them.

I use a combination of incandescent and various leds sometimes, some back boxes are better than others with leds.
If it doesn’t look right just keep incandescents in there.
