Just installed rotten dog dmd but only getting orange dots

As title states I have a Jackbot who’s dmd display drive board failed last week- I know this as I took one out of white water and fitted in Jackbot and it worked . So ordered new rotten dog one for Jackbot but but on instal I’m just getting all the dots lit. Anyone know where I went wrong ?

Have you tried the rotten dog in White Water?
Same result in 2 different machines and you’ve found the problem. Ken

didn't want to do that incase i damaged the whitewater in some way

its a new board straight out of the box

Not sure, is the ribbon cable (0ne going to display) on the new board in the right way, don't remember it looping over, rather hanging down, i could be wrong. Worth checking ribbons are correctly seated anyhow

if i get it backwards will it damage anything ... it looks like a funny fix in the past??

Swapped the we board back into Jackbot - perfect - put new rotten dog in ww - orange screen . Faulty board?

Well if the rottendog bd ain’t buggered up Jackbot it shouldn’t do anything to White Water.

i put it into ww and same result ... seems to be a bad rotten dog board its fresh out of the box but upon deep diving in threads these seem to have issues

I had that with a Pinled MPU... It does happen... though you would like to think they were tested somewhere along the line before shipping...

If the fault follows the board.. the then fault is usually the board (Especially when another board tests good - therefore proving other pieces of the jigsaw...)

Send it back. Get a new one, claim compensation

A repaired original is better than a Rottendog imho. These guys may also be able to help you ...
