Hiya,
It seems to be out of stock at Pinbits.com ... does anyone know anywhere else I can get a new one or have a used one they might sell me?

Hmm, tumbleweed... Anyway it turns out that they had some rings in stock (only pink ones, sadly) so I ordered one. Then I got an email from them asking if I wanted the ROM too, to which I said yes, but they didn't then ask for extra payment (I thought it was going to be $15 more)... I did get a shipping notification today, so I wonder what will arrive?!

They probably couldnt believe they sold a Pink one and sent the rom to guarantee it didnt come back :)

@Vimtoman haha! I don't mind the pink, although I'd have preferred the orange :)

@mark adams - I haven't got around to fitting it yet. It's apparently an older version of the ROMs but I'm not the kind of person who memorises the rules and call-outs so I probably won't notice. I've played it before with the mod kit Stan Simpson's JD and thought it really improved the game. I've read that if your crane mechanism is flaky and sometimes misses or drops the balls that it can be difficult to set up, but mine has always been very reliable so I'm not worried on that score. I'll post back here when I have some feedback.

As I have a JD to sell once I refurb it I have a full deadworld kit brand new in the box that I will be selling if anyone interested.

Cheers

Kev

Yes the mod is great but as it uses the L-1 rom it can make game play twitchy, if you knock the ball out of the ring the game loses count of the balls. tyhe L-7 is a more stable

Having fitted and played with the mod - it's great, I think the game is really improved by it. It feels more like you're working towards a goal than "light up the lights and then hit the ramp three times to get the deadworld multiball"... I know that really you're doing the same thing, but it just feels better this way. Also, when the multiball starts the ball release is slightly slower, which gives you time to think about and appreciate it as each ball is added into play.

It's definitely the case that the machine needs to be well adjusted - an airball or wobbling/bouncing delivery to the locking ring can fail to land in the hole and this messes things up completely, so you can end up with the machine deciding the last ball has drained when you still have one or more in play. But when the adjustment is right it does play very well. Having played quite a few times since fitting it, I have no intention of removing it, even if it means servicing the machine a bit more often to keep it reliable.

Hi there, I am a bit concerned that pinbits does not answer. So you received your locking mod kit? Is there an oppurtunity to participate? May I buy a copy? I only need the software. Would be great. Kind regards, Uli
