yeah thanks John - I do like it and it was a good price, so couldn't resist it - just go no where to put it until the pin shack is built!!! So, l'm gonna hide it in our the rented house so Matt can play it, and that way the missus won't know for a good while and by then deal is well and truly done haha!!

Cheers

The Deadworld mod from Pinbits is a nice touch, puts it back as it should have been originally and not difficult to install.

Kev, I'll likely be ordering one of these in month or two, so if you decide you do want one, let me know. ;)

Sorry to hijack this thread but seeing as it's sold I don't feel too bad. @gopinball can verify this but there is no opto on the entrance to the left ramp on my pin but the manual says there should be. Can any other owners confirm this as there are ramp protectors on mine which look factory and are probably why there is no opto but want to confirm that it's not something done later?!

-1 for the mod, specially when in tournaments and it gets confused as to how many balls are where... it can have serious software issues as the software was unfinished. :tut:

@JMP Is there any evidence that this mod works as it should as I have seen a few reports of issues with it ? Or is it a case of it works fine if you machine is setup correctly and all the optos etc work ?

Cheers

what do you mean by slowed it down Steve ?

In the standard game the first 2 locks are virtual and the ball comes straight back round the ramp to the right flipper. Only the 3rd ball is diverted to the Dead World and it is immediately put back onto the playfield. In the modded game, all balls are diverted to the Dead World and held there.

IMO the DeadWorld mod is a must for JD, so cool to see the balls orbiting the planet. Not great for a tournament game due to the software sometimes bugging out but for home use, as long as all your optos and switches are serviced and working well then it's all good

Kev I've had a JD before and fitted this mod with the L1AT (from memory) ROM. It worked fine with no messing about. Crane needed a little adjustment to pick up the ball with the magnet but that was it. Not sure what all these reported problems are tbh.....

I had a JD with it fitted once and it really slowed down the game so optioned it off!

Presume he means waiting for the crane to unload the deadworld during multiball? If so, I prefer it, gives you time to keep them in play.

If not, what do you mean?

Suffered twice in tournaments due to games having the mod - IFPA6 and London Open.

Don't remember why for IFPA6 (twas was a while ago now) but I do remember that the London Open was caused by balls being on the planet when the game was started and not in the trough. I think @bartron knows more on the various bugs in it.
