Not necessarily better - all depends on what you want to use it for.
Personally i'd use a blue crimp like that if I knew it wasn't something i'd want to undo. If it was a temporary connection where I wanted to join/break and then rejoin again then i'd go for a pinned connector. But then how permanent is anything we do nowadays? You could argue that if the wiring goes back to the head then you might well want to break the connection; what if you want the remove the head to transport it for example?
