Ask Mr Palmer - he sold them all.How many JJP Pirates do folks think are in the Country?
I know, its a ok game but nowhere near worth the price it is generating.11K?! Holy ****

See Johnny mnemonic and recent shadow thread. Apparently its worth what people are prepared to pay. If I sold mine where could I find another? If people are quoting 3700 jm as a good price then this has to be worth around the prices I quoted.Just because it’s cheaper than what other stupid people are paying - it does not make it a good price. Vlue and gameplay JJP POTC is a 7K game tops in my view.

£7k for a SE maybe, however, Alan sold a LE for £11k …… That’s a good price in my eyes for a highly desirable pin

Let's also not forget that the fantastic mods that came out, re-engineered back in some of the removed elements. My POTC now has the chest that opens and shuts implemented better than was originally envisaged by JJP themselves, with lit chest interior to indicate the mode. This machine remains one of the most comprehensive and packed games I've ever owned and the idea that it it wouldn't be worth the same price or more as an anaemic specimen like Led Zep LE is so laughable it's derisory. When PotC was first released it was indeed poor.
The 3 spinning discs running constantly were continually breaking down and added nothing to the gameplay. Code was also poor. This stopped people buying immediately, and people assumed there would be an unlimited supply of them - like Woz and the 20 different 'limited' editions.
They reworked the spinning disc and updated and improved code, but the reputation was there.
Whether it was due to license or poor sales manufacturing stopped before people realised how good it was.
The game has great and varied shots, a fantastic toy in the rocking Black Pearl along with 5 different wizard modes, 6 standard multiballs and 20(?) different starting characters to play which greatly change how you can attack the game.
Despite its age, it stands up to any of the recent Stern LEs in depth, toys and gameplay, with the benefit of not having the build quality or clearcoat issues of recent games.
Then add in the sparcity of games, let alone those people willing to sell them, and the price has got to be at the very least that of a recent Stern LE.
(Anybody wanting to sell theirs for 7k I'll drop everything and come and collect with cash in hand - wherever you are in the country, or even Europe!)
NIB prices certainly affect current pinball pricesNew LE’s are now £12K.. a Pro is now £7K..
original games in good condition are going up.
