JJP Harry Potter -Confirmed

Not into HP at all but has aesthetics and looks interesting.
Wonder how the sound fx etc… will be to capture the HP atmosphere.
Surely it will have character call outs??
All I see is Marc Silk.

But did you notice no audio from the films at all. No audioclips of any of the actors and not using the John Williams theme at all. Seems they have cheaped out by not paying for the actors individual voices just video clips from the film without the accompanying audio. I feared they would go this way. Like I GOTG and Walking Dead what is a license if it doesn’t have audioclips from the films. We generally dont even notice video clips when playing pinball. One audio clip of Ron Weasley saying something daft when you drain is worth 10 video clips of wizards casting spells at each other.

Maybe I’m wrong but I worry the “film clips” JJP mention don’t include clips of movie audio of the actors. Sorry but why bother. Might as well be an original version like Stern did with Jurassic Park.

This is why Pulp Fictionis such a good license. 250+ sound clips of every character in the film…

Hopefully I’m wrong but I was burnt by JJP when they did Wonka with hardly any speech clips from the film. Also, POtC by JJP is similar. Video clips of anything not featuring actors, no lines from the films. The only thing they paid for was photos of the cast.

The table looks the part but if it doesn’t sound right then it’s already failed the main reason people buy pinball tables for their favourite licenses.
Yep, think u read my mind

They won’t be able to do a YouTube video with the Harry Potter music without it being pulled.

I would wait until you see gameplay, as Jack said they had all the assets.

I don't know much about Harry Potter, my gf is obsessed though. Looks like JJP have nailed it in terms of theme integration and toys etc, but how will it play?

No original audio on the trailer as it would get flagged on Facebook & Instagram I'm lead to believe.

Yeah hopefully that's the case but like I say past JJP have failed in that respect before. No Johnny Depp samples in POTC? What is point?
I doubt they would repeat that mistake, POTC didn't sell many at all. I suspect its for reason of you tube etc pulling the video if it had licenced music, sound etc, as there algorithms will flag it as a copyright breach.

Overall impression is positive. Certainly looks great. They have packed plenty in but not too much. Will it have the greatest shots around ? I would guess not but as a machine to pull people in and enjoy a few games it ticks all the boxes.

Yeah, just trying to decide between Wizard and CE.

Yeah, same here.

Having seen the videos for Elton then witnessed the radcals in person there was no comparison.

You just can't do glitter and embossed images justice with a camera so I suspect it will be stunning in real life.

That said, anyone who buys that Arcade version will still have one hell of a game.

I agree about the art blades too . . . Look better on the Wizard edition

Biggest sound package ever in a pinball machine apparently so you’d imagine they’ve got the lot
They do confirm this in the featurette so that is a relief. For JJPs sake as well as ours. They've had so many disappointing releases recently they really need to get this right and the lack of audio assets in the promotional material was genuinely worrying to me. I can't wait to hear the finished product now.

Let's just hope it shoots well now.

The 10k price point on the Arcade edition is actually pretty good for what you get compared to the competition. Can't see them selling a ton of Wizard editions tbh... That CE art package truly is beautiful though.

Elton John is the GOAT. At least as good as Godzilla.

It's a Steve Ritchie greatest hits edition. Great presentation and toys. Brilliant sound. The only 'problem' is that people who comment on pinball forums seem to think unless music is produced by lawnmower, it's not worth listening too... :)
