Me again!

Has anyone successfully installed a tournament button on a Spike 2 game which didn't already come with one?
All the Stern games I've had in thr past came with tournament buttons, but I note that with Metallica remastered, like in the U.S It doesn't come with one.
I used to use the tournament button all the time when having a game on and a Tops tournament set up during a party and I know that simply starting a competition/tournament mode by holding the flippers isn't the same.
I've seen on pinside that I selling the old school square tournament button looks a bit naff, as it protrudes from the cab.
Has anyone here make a tournament button I could pop in to my game? (I'm assuming connectors are there inside already and it's just a could of small connectors?)
Cheers!

Hmm...looks like I'm the only one:-)....
Might just looks to souce one of the old square tournament buttons ; just need to look in to if I need connectors or if they are already hanging inside the cab?

It is odd that nobody seems to sell these tournament buttons, I do like the concept of adding them for a cheap alternative way to play home machines, I've been curious about setting this up myself but there's a lack of information about it online.

Checked in my Rush and that has the connections with spades connectors on them tucked up out of the way, like Andy Ive also got a volume button in my blank hole.

If you dont want the protruding original square tournament button you should be able to fit pretty much any 28mm back light button, its just getting one with the tournament text. I know you can get ones where you can change the text on the button with an insert so you could always have one made up, or if its not that important having the text just a light up yellow one.

Ah nice; I think I have some unused Sanwa or Happ button sitting in a cupboard, but they are lit unfortunately.
Would this button work : https://www.pinballlife.com/engage-start-button.html

Should do although it will stick stick out like the original tournament button so better off of you could get the original square one I would say.

Not sure it specifically needs to be lit if you wanted a quick solution while waiting for the correct one to arrive.

What about a 24mm button like this

I don’t have callipers to hand, but it looks to be the right diameter

I just found this on AliExpress: £1.84 | One 28mm 24mm 5v Led Illuminated Light Clear Push Button Pc Joystick Arcade Hitbox Controller Coin Game Vending Machine Cabinet

I think I saw on pinside someone saying they had to route out the whole a bit to make the shaft of the button fit, so maybe one of the smaller buttons which @Markedkiller78 above is suggesting might do it.
You are right about the light being unnecessary though - I'm gonna have a look through the buttons I have at home and see what I havez but good to know @Andydn might be able to sort me out with an old button if they fit- cheers
