Hey guys, i want to do a mod on my machine involving a plane and some LED's powered from the GI lighting. I know i will need a resistor to stop it blowing and just need to double check if i buy an LED with a resistor inline to handle a 6-12v supply it will be fine without blowing weeks/months down the line and i have to pull the mod and redo it again?

If you want to do things properly, you want to buy a small bridge rectifier and connect that to the 2 AC lines of the GI circuit.

Then measure the voltage on the bridge rectifier + and - output terminals (which will now be DC instead of AC that is on the GI circuit)

Once you have the voltage measured, we can use ohms law to calculate the proper resistor value that you need , and then you will be able to use normal LED's the current will be exactly what it should be and it will last near enough forever.

If you need more info just ask
