Buy.com used to be excellent when they opened here for a "short" time.

1x Ram stick cling-film style shrink wrapped to a box probably 5x+ the size of that... guessing around 70cm x 40cm x 30cm high...

Clearly youve never bought anything from Amazon, had this loads with a box multiple times the size of the item.

I guess for them they have x amount of set box sizes and postage charges internally and they use whichever box/charge is the smallest sue to the bulk that they send things out, probably cheaper to have a a few options than loads of fit to size options.

They even sometimes will send stuff out not in a box if the suppliers box is good enough for shipping itself.

I once had an SD card delivered from SCAN in a box about 50x50x50cm

I can only assume the warehouse staff were having a most ridiculous packaging contest that day to amuse themselves
