Indiana Jones Multiball problem

The coil operating the ark return gate (the multiball chest) will only open, it will stay closed till required and opens correctly but will not close. I have replaced the coil with new but not solved the problem. Any suggestions welcome.

Sorry for the confusing description, Its a Stern and there is a gate which opens to divert the balls from the top of the shooter lane into the multiball chest to load it up. That gate sticks open so that it captures in play balls after the chest is loaded, Its controlled by a flipper coil which I replaced but the problem persists.

I'll see what I can get, not the easiest thing to film as it involves stuff not happening. The game plays normal until after multiball, then a gate opens at the top of the table behind the chest to refill the chest as balls get fired from the shooter lane, the problem is that it doesnt close - preventing normal play balls from passing around the back channel from the shooter lane.

Is it stuck open all the time here is a few things to check
In diagnosis check the gate opens and shuts
But my gut feeling is you have an opto not registering the balls are going in the trunk hence it stays open as it’s not seen any ball pass it on entry to the trunk

Swapped out Optos but still not resolved the problem. I think I need some help - anyone sheffield/north of England available

did you try the switch tests and shove a ball past to simulate what would happen in a real game ?

No, limited time so I swapped out the optos and fired it up. everything plays well except this one gate.

Look back through the thread and do what’s been suggested. go into test mode and try a few things.

When I had a problem like this on mine it was the diverter arm which was sticking !
