Good place to start. Is it on a fuse?

Does the playfield move after switch on? If not motor drive problem. If it moves then switch problem.

Ok. Then check motor connections and whether the flash lamps are working !!

Problem sorted. The entire block for j126 had got somehow pushed up behind the board. Slight oversight when the head box was dismantled for refurb. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
I feared for a moment that the motor had been destroyed by a software problem, as I saw once. Apparently, it was possible to short the motor by pressing both buttons at once when the mini-playfield was active. A new motor and installation of program L 7 were needed.
