Hi all,

The Indiana Jones we picked up had a faulty DMD which we knew about before getting it, it had loads of orange bleeding across - is that when its gassed?

Popped in the one from our TZ which we recently put a colordmd in so had the original spare.

However now the display is clear and bright but it seems to flicker and sometimes orange will start to appear in the bottom corner.

I've tried different ribbon cables but that did not work.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Check the high voltage section of the DMD board. DANGER - Be aware that there are some serious voltages on that board. If you aren’t sure what you are doing, LEAVE IT TO SOMEBODY WHO IS.

Now that the warnings are out of the way, I used to rebuild the DMD high voltage section on nearly all my Bally/WMS DMD games when I first got them. It is a highly stressed circuit and also very cheap to do.

If it’s flickering it’s likely to be the capacitors on the dot matrix driver board. They need to be replaced. If not confident to do it, you can send the board away for repair. It’s inexpensive.

Is there a guide on how to do them anywhere? We’ve done a bit of soldering to boards, can replace flippers etc. so we know some stuff ourselves and happy to try if it sounds alright

We've tried the board from another machine in IJ and the display works absolutely fine, so the board must be damaged.

Does anyone have any spare or know someone who can repair them please?
