Hurricane WPC 50v reads 77.3v at TP6

Quick question if I may?

Is 70v odd too much voltage for the 50v circuit? Is that normal? I haven’t got another pin set up to compare at the moment.

Sooo... looking at your instgram video looks to be WPC89 Power Driver board on a Hurricane? (You put WPC 95 btw).

Where are you measuring from? The test point?

Man I'm tired didn't even finish my sentence... so yeah anyway TP on coil power is spec'd for 50 v but will often show 72v DC on your DMM.

lol the amount of pins I build and I don't think I've ever documented voltages like that back on assembly. Good on you for being that thorough!

72v is normal. It’ll drop to around 50v under load

I’m chasing down a random reset in this machine. So I did voltages before I had the power board out yesterday I’ve reflowed connectors that I “thought” looked suss, and replaced 4 or 5 connectors with tri pins. Voltages are exactly the same as before I did it. But the bloody Ferris wheels stopped spinning. So tracing that back to the relay now. Never ends!!

And this cheeky little 12v bad boy going out to the relay was the reason the Ferris Wheel was unhappy!

Inspection is key!!

It still resets of course
