Pointless. Pretty much out of date instantly. Then you get into it's worth x cos that's what the book says. Pretty much like the Ebay watchers.

ok i’ve been on the vino......

back in 2004 i used to collect pottery (i know, i’ll get my coat!![emoji2]). specifically Moorcroft pottery- very collectible and not cheap. some pieces are worth more than a Nib CE pin!

i wrote a database system loaded with all retail prices historically and then second hand prices.

in those days i could scrape all the ebay completed sales info automagically into the database.

i charged a subscription of £20 a year and had 100s members.

ran it for a few years, then someone bought the whole business from me!

even though you are right the info is out of date, possibly irrelevant and condition is hard to assess, people found it really useful, and were prepared to pay.

i used to get a lot of enquiries from people who just wanted an idea of value for a piece they inherited. So i added a One day subscription for a £1 and made a lot of £1’s. most folk just wanted a guide to compare against the lowball offer their local auction house or dealer was offering.

So, i believe people would find it useful.

in today’s market it would be hard to charge for such a system - the world has moved on.

one of the other benefits is that over time you get a pretty good set of stats on what the rate of pinflation or pin deflation is.

other things you can do are quite exciting too - eg pinball tracker. we all agree in uk to attach a pinball tracker tag to our machines. log in central database. describe machines history, log, mods, service history. then when a machine moves on, that info goes to the new owner- over time you get full log book and service history for each machine. makes resale easier. ok it’s prone to abuse. but we’ll soon flush out the dodgy members.

anyhow I rant. probably a bollicks idea.
can you tell ive had my first [emoji485] gow (correction bottle) for a few days. hic

track and trace is coming to a pinball near you soon. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Hmmmm...i think there is a market for a “glasses guide” for pins...i mean come on these things can be the price of a car, oh wait it seems there is plenty of money sloshing about with all these people wanting to buy a new GnR CE, waving their willys about....not for me can’t be ****d with the hype train..but ask me again when BTTF is launched :) I will be there with my plastic ready to tap....and yes i’m on the vino too lol

Here's your problem right there. Garbage in and all that. That leaves here and if you look in the what's it worth thread theres a fair amount of it fetched x on y site.
There are only a couple of people I'd trust pricing wise.

Probably crying out for a blockchain solution (there was probably an ICO for a long defunct token for this
around 2 years ago).

(nothing's really crying out for a blockchain solution)
