How long do Stern etc keep pins available for new?

I am enjoying the hell out of a Jaws Pro rental at the moment and seriously toying with buying a prem.

I notice you can still order these, but this one has been out a while.

I also don't want to do that for another several months ideally.

Do they tend to keep them available for a set period of time? Or does it vary?

Do they also announce when one won't be getting made any longer?

Anyone got any insight into how that works?

Any Jaws Premium owners out there? What is the longevity like?

Cheers
Marcus

It varies by how popular the game is, for example Godzilla (2021) is still in production but Foo Fighters (2023) is already in the “Vault”, which means they won’t make any more for at least another two years (if ever).

Jaws has done well so I expect it to keep being made a while longer, according to Pinside the next run of Jaws Premiums will be made next month.

If I were you I’d try something else though, so many different pins to play. You can always pick up another Jaws later (albeit probably not NIB) if you end up missing it.

Rumours of a 50th Anniversary edition next month as well... and finished code.

Interesting re Godzilla vs Foo Fighters - I guess if it stays popular then... should be around for a while longer yet.

Yeah, I am conflicted on this, hence not wanting to make a call till the end of the rental in like 4 months.

I do also have a Kong pro on order (switched to that from a D&D pre order).

Thanks for the feedback - appreciated!

Just bought a NIB LE Jaws from France - they are still out there.

Bear in mind that most manufacturers (other than maybe at launch time, but not in the UK) don't sell machines to us. It's the distributor(s) who sells them and they usually hold stock, so know how stock levels are holding up.

Manufacturers may stop making a title, but distributors may well have them in stock for years afterwards. Even if they are personally sold out, your distributor might know where they can readily get them.

So, talk to your distributor to get a good feel for whether you need to grab a title now, or can wait a bit.
