How expensive is machining?

Wondered if anyone could help me out here - might need to restore a few odd vintage guitars in the near future that have lost a tremolo arm (see photo for example - it's the long, thin metal rod and that part only). Parts are of course hard to come by so wondered if getting replacement parts would be cost-prohibitive - how much would you expect to pay to have a part like that machined?

I'm guessing there is some 'fixing' thread or otherwise on the guitar end?

Otherwise, and it looks like it's the same diameter, for the full length, it comes down to who/where you ask.

For example, when I need a metal part made last time (one off simple part), I went to a vintage car restorer,.local to me, who made my part for a crate of beer.

If you send off to some firm or other online, I expect a very different outcome.
