Hey guys, mid way through a bit of work on my Jm and I've hit a bit of a wall. In particular how the hell do I remove these screws/rivets whatever they are? :)

Ideally I'd like to keep a hold of them and not have to destroy them as the new ramp doesn't have any, or I'd be tempted to buy some more if anyone sells them and these things will just never come off! Thanks.

Drill them out and pop rivet them back on. You only need a small drill bit to reach the center part of the rivet and the head will fall off.

There is a chance you will cause star cracks on the plastics when riveting them back in place
Perhaps use small self tappers as used on other machines..

Note: you could practice on an a scrap ramp n see what I mean.

when drilling out ensure it's a good bit, blunt one will just heat up the whole thing and cause melting damage

and,to state the obvious it doesn't have the be size of the O.D of the rivet head, just the size about shaft size, then the rivet head will pop off

Don't drill them.

You'll get half way in and then it'll start spinning, potenially ruining the plastic and burning your finger as you try to hold it from the other side. Then you'll never be able to get it out.

Get yourself the sharpest drill bit you can find and twist it on the rivet head by hand. You may have to go at it for 5 minutes but it's the safest way. Once it's eaten away a good portion of the rivet head, stand a socket on an extension bar in a vice. Something like a 10mm will do. Rest the assembly over it with the rivet over the socket, then take a nail punch and with one strike the rivet should pop off without cracking the plastic.
