I have had various set ups over the past 25 years or so. Starting with the 3 channel yamaha amps that you added to your existing 2 channel stereo amp.
Irrespective of the technology, I find myself having to manually adjust the channels almost every time I use my kit, no matter what generation it is. I have had the amps with microphones and auto set up etc
It appears to me that some films are mixed to be played loud - like top gun 2, as the effects are so much louder than the dialogue. It was like this in the cinema
Dialogue v front effects seem to vary enormously film by film. Some films have virtually nothing coming out of left and right rears
I end up manually balancing each film I screen at my community cinema too.
Is this how others find it ?
