Sold HOBBIT ‘BLACK ARROW’ Lots of Mods

For Sale is a Hobbit ‘Black Arrow‘ edition with a number of mods.

I’m adding this on behalf of a neighbour who’s not in the forum. The machine is in perfect working order, with low plays and many mods inc;
The topper
-Gold shooter rod with matching gold shooter housing
-Replaced action button for a ‘one ring’ version
- 3D flipper toppers of Smaug’s gold piles
- Side art blades of Smaug’s gold
- Drop down target protectors with the dwarf faces to signify their target
- Gollum playfield figure
- Bilbo playfield figure
- Thorins throne figure


Only negs are 2 very small marks on the cabinet
It was purchased from a forum member and will go on eBay, if there’s no interest on here this weekend, for a starting bid of £5995

Smaug LE at lowest price was £6k. BA edition IMHO is a £5.4K game, hence why they sticking about. Is this is a £6k game with the mods? Maybe so. I think £5k you may be waiting a heck of a long time. £5.4K - which is where I’m at with buying one. You’ll get one.

I sold my BA in the summer for £5,800 and I have seen two more after that for about the same, so it’s probably about right (maybe £200 high) in my opinion.

It’s a great game and probably the most immersive pinball machine that I have played. Long ball times!

No, that is a mod.

No, but I didn’t have any damage either.

The market will decide on price, I can only speak about what I got for mine which was about 5 months ago.

The price is about right. A couple have sold in this sort of range over the last 6 months. The price asked doesn’t say it’s firm so who knows if someone offered a little under a deal may be done.
Saying a Smaug sold for 6k once doesn’t really set the prices as maybe someone needed it gone quick and didn’t have the time to hold out for 6.5k. The last standard went on for 5250 and I believe sold for 5k. l know of an IM pro that sold for 4700 away from this group but that doesn’t mean all IM are now worth this.

Full disclosure I owned this pin from nib and it plays fantastic. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a lot of game for the money with the theme integration being fantastic and really immersive in my opinion. The original poster has done the right thing showing pictures of the small marks to the decals but in fairness for a 2 1/2 year old pin they are minor and shouldn’t put anyone off. Whoever ends up buying this pin is getting a nice condition pin with some cool extras included and will be really happy with it

I was actually saying it was worth more than £5k that the person above me stated. Given that there was no price, just what it was going on ebay for, I only said that IMO the base is £5.4k and the higher level than that with mods may well be £6k.

You are perfectly entitled to it as well. Even to post it on my thread if you feel strongly enough about it. You can't throw pricing stones (not that this ever was one by the way) and expect to live in a greenhouse.

Sometimes you just get lucky with prices.
If buyer really wants something and happy with condition then go for it.
Godzilla sold a beautiful BA for 5.5 recently. It was pretty much NIB, he only just got it from Freddie’s last year. Playfield protector since new, blades etc..... but I believe he was in a hurry to sell. I think he def undersold it TBH.

To clarify, amd because of comments above and questions posed on PM the above the price put on the advert was me saying, on behalf of the owner, it’ll be £5995 if it goes on eBay but does anyone on the forum want it first? I think he’d take less but not by much. Theres a lot of mods in the deal and you can see mods when you’re playing .but you can’t see minor marks in most scenarios

I very rarely comment on for sale posts even when I see stuff I know is untrue or silly prices
There is a what’s this table worth thread if anyone wants a discuss prices it does not have to be posted on any for sale thread
If anyone wants a pin on a for sale post I find a nice polite pm works wonders
The sooner the for sale thread becomes a classified the better in my opinion

If your neighbour doesn’t need the cash for Christmas it may be worth them holding on to it and see what happens with the tarrif. If the UK put the 25% back on, the BA maybe worth more than it currently is.

I don’t know much about the tariff other than I’ve seen a few comments on here but thanks for the heads up. Personally I think he’ll let it go now as he’s quite fickle and the eBay £1 fees are calling so it’ll be going on there this evening. I’m surprised no one on here made an offer near to his Ebay number as it’s a cracking game and the Mods really finish it off nicely. Thanks again.
