Hi,

I picked up a LOTR last week and have been playing it most days, with some long sessions, double completion, all mode completed, except fellowship so cant get Vallinder multiball :( yet.

Tried to play it this evening and got an error with the sword lock, various other bits have stopped working such as the UK skill posts. The ball won't release from the sword lock.

This is only my second pinball and different from STTNG (Williams) in both its diagnostics and manual.

On the Power driver board the L200 20v light is out, any ideas what the issue might be?

Board?
Fuse?
Connector?

Any assistance would be very much appreciated...

Had some wine this evening so can't troubleshoot it *lol* not that I could anyway :(

checked fuses?
Nope not yet, don't have any spare. (for this machine)

I have a voltage metre, to be honest I have never used it, to test a fuse what setting should I set it to? I'm guessing you put the pointers on each end of the fuse :) Wine technical

and no.... I'm not going any where near the machine this evening *lol*

take the fuse out. check it on ohms setting. usually your meter will have a short circuit beep setting to test fuses and continuity. ie you touch the two probes together and it gives out a beep sound to confirm a circuit has been made. so can be used to check if a fuse is good or not.

Thanks, IL try this on Sunday

Thanks, all fuses are working and not blown.

Curious lifted the playfield for the first time, pushed in connectors on the Power Driver board, checked wiring and fuses under the playfield.

Turned machine back on to run the diagnostics, L200 light now on, all low voltage coils now working. Diagnostic tests work for the coils.

Seems to be fine, will try a game this evening and see how it goes......

Love it when reseating a connector fixes an issue - can happen quite often. Glad it wasn’t anything too painful [emoji106]

glad it was an easy fix Chris .Its all those 10 ball games, you must be having 2hr sessions with 10 balls .
