Help adjusting a rollover switch

Hi

I'm having trouble trying to adjust a microswitch. It's the shooter lane one on IMDN - it will work whrn pressed in switch test but will not register when the ball is resting on it so needs adjusting.

I've tried bending the exposed wire in the shooter lane upwards by pulling on it with a pair of pliers but not made it any different.

So wondering what else I can do? Is there any adjustment on the switch itself? Only some of it is readily accessible - see pics below. Is there anywhere visible that i can tweak or do I need to bend the wire a different way in which case, how and how to access it?

Make a slight upwards bend in the flat piece of metal just above the switch then further along a slight bend if the roll over part is now sitting too high, you basically want the ‘trigger’ at rest to be almost activating the switch but obviously not triggering it

Thanks Andy, will give it a go when back home later as about to go out now. Not sure I'll be able to get to the flat piece easily though...

Might be hard to explain, but I'd use a contact adjuster and bend the part after where the switch nub is (I don't know what it's called, but what is depressed), upwards so its more proud but the part resting on the little nub stays. Similiar to what Andy is saying.

I sometimes lodge something above the little nub so the bend starts after it and you don't end up bending the whole switch arm up. I have a load of wooden kebab skewers I often use in pins to test switches underneath without the risk of shorting things and one of those often works, or anything similar size that will help define the 'fold' point when you bend the arm up.



Pardon my art. The angle is extreme just to illustrate and I don't know if you'll even have the clearance to get it like that but even a few mm adjustment should work.

Large flat head screw driver - slide it in above and as you twist the head of the screwdriver will create the bend for you.

I had an issue such as this, it was a shooter lane protector.
Holding the ball too high.
I removed the protector.

Finally sorted it after about an hour of fiddling. Initially bent the wire too much and was really stiff so the ball would sit on it and not roll back to the auto plunger rather than push the switch down fully. Also found I had the bent the switch so it was now resting on the rtight hand side rather than in the middle.

Evntually only way I could do properly was to remove switch altogether which took another 15 mins to find the right fing socket. More fiddling and finally put back and now registers with the ball on. This is one of the reasons I shy away from repairs as it can get so frustrating and I fear I will make it worse rather than better!
