Guns and roses / data east sound issue with video link….

You could actually have a duff eprom or two.

I would reseat all the eproms first and the ribbon cables.

Try some switch cleaner on the ribbon cables too.

I would remove the sound board when you are taking out and reseating eproms.

Hey pick holder , I think the back box earth cable has come away from the cab in the move , can anyone tell me where the best place to reattach the wire to the one from the base of the machine is attached to the rear latch , I believe the cab braide should be mounted to the rear latch too? Tbh I have never taken notice over the last few years and can’t find the info.

Resistalled and still have the same issue, also starting to think the game is starting to have a mind of its own sometimes spitting out multi balls when i didn't expect them and a very powerful shooter lane solenoid on autoplunge read post re low 12 volt to the sound board, these issues have arisen since i adjusted the volume up the other day ? have read that could be a link? planning open disconnecting the sub in the body to see if that helps the 12 volt .. if that is what it is ?

Read cooldans post on similar issue , think I just need a new power supply board … the x pin type
Also show us a photo close up of the battery area on the MPU as you may have corrosion issues if it's having a mind of it's own. And make sure the ribbon cable is not resting on the tube, route it round the outside of the tube holder.

Additional, the original board seems to have had a mod done to it ?

Fairly normal for replacing the burnt out connector on these games. Just tightening the choc block screws may resolve your issues but replacing and restoring to how it should be would be the best way forward.
