There's no rest here in the demented room of Gottlieb appreciation - aka my living room. Next on our journey across the Gottlieb-iverse (say it out loud, I'd kinda works) is the beautiful.... stunning.... hideously backglassed TX-SECTOR!!! All jokes aside this game has seriously changed my life since owning one, it really is like a big trip back to the 80s where the music is even better than what it was before. I strongly recommend that if you have the opportunity to play one of these that you do, it's a wonderful game.

So the good news is she's working 100% which makes a welcome change for my projects! I will be doing all of the System 80b mods anyway to hopefully bullet proof the machine for many years to come.

My favourite part of this machine is the beautiful battery in a bag mod 😂 at least that badboy is off of the board though

That looks a very tidy machine, playfield looks in great condition.
We are hoping to have another sys80 's line up at our show in Manchester this year. We had a great line up of Sys 80's at our last NLP show at event city. Think we had 3 TX Sectors in the line up.
Why not bring it along to our show for the Sys 80 line up, bringing the machine will get you free entry to the show for the weekend.

I'd love to, I really have found a massive amount of love for the system 80s over the last year, would love to get an opportunity to play a line up of them. Manchester is a bit of a trek for me but might have to go make the voyage if there's going to be loads of sys 80s there 😂

I am glad my TX doesn't have the original translite!!
Only gottlied could make a translite that looks water damaged and faded all in one!!

Still it looks very Kraftwerk. Perfect 80's.
Are you going to look after the Sys 80's line up at this year's show Chris ? Between you and @JMP you could fill it with your machines but would be great if we could get another Gotlieb sys80 b line up again.

Just out of intrest did you pick up this beauty from the UK or overseas?

Think I'll have some there this year and the others will be at home which is not that much further North if you wanted to play them before heading back down. Current ones you don't have are Robowar (this should be next on your list btw), Raven, Victory, Excalibur, Arena, Monte Carlo & Hollywood Heat. Also have a Alien Star which is System 80A and I really enjoy.

What an amazing collection, you literally have my dream line up right there.

My other grail game, this one. Not likely to ever get one because people found out it's excellent and the prices for it tend to be out of my range...

If you're ever in Essex you're always welcome to come round for a few flips, it's such an amazing game can't really see myself ever parting with it.... But I say that about every machine 😂

Now this one 'IS' rare @MajesticPinball.... only second time seen one for sale on Ebay:

Can put you in touch with a reliable EU door to UK door courier if tempted? ;)
Excalibur is one that's on my list.... Who am I kidding, they all are 😂 but I'm holding out for a lead on a Monte Carlo at the moment, which I don't even have the space for. So got to be tough on my self at the moment and not get any other games - and it's a real struggle

No worries.... but it may be a long time before you see another Excalibur with only 1700 made. There's always room somewhere.... ;)

Dude I have serious issues with giving into peer pressure easily... Please stop 😂😂😂

Following this for the sheer awesomeness that is Tx Tx Tx sector. Well done on bagging this from Tobin.

I am really intrigued to see what that Excalibar goes for John. What do you reckon? Unfortunately rare and gotts don't always bring in the big bucks

Not sure, I paid more than the starting bid for mine but I had no basis of past sales to go on.... I'm gonna guess the 1500 Euro/£1300 mark.

From speaking to guys on pinside, TX's (the most popular with Robowar) go for $2K - $3K in US now as scarce, price over here I've no idea these days..... Excalibur isn't as popular but hard to find in working condition. So, smaller market of desire for this title I guess, however suspect there are people who want when the opportunity arises...… me & @domlouis in the UK at least. We'll see anyway...…

Playfield now stripped down and all major mechs off the underside of the playfield too. Got a problem post and t-nut on the left hand ramp flap that I will carefully dremel out tomorrow. I will also give the playfield a real good clean and at a good wax up tomorrow. I've left all the coils and switches hanging underneath the playfield for now. The problem with restoring this machine in my living room is having to be courteous to my non-pinball loving partner so I'm keeping everything as contained in the machine as possible.

Thought it might be worth mentioning this game has 40 plastic posts, 18 metal posts and 40 metal ball guides... I know Gottlieb love a post but jeez this was tedious to strip down

Playfield cleaned up nicely, applied 4 coats of Novus 2 and buffed out so the mylar is nice and shiny. Also hand polished all of the ball guides which takes forever but I quite enjoy it. I have a bit of a weird system for ball guides, obviously I take loads of pictures but I also label up each one, with a diagram of where they go, then hand polish them one by one. I'm sure there are easier ways but when there's 40 of them it's better to be safe than a confused mess!

Been quietly working away on this when I can, slightly lost my pinball mojo recently but trying to power through.

Starting to get the playfield back together. So far I've installed the GI LEDs (the same I use in every machone as I'm obsessed with them), beautiful new clear star posts with polished hardware, metal posts, spinners, kicking targets, slingshots, and trough - all have been disassembled and hand polished

Mech cleaning and polishing so far has been a slow process, most mechs looks as if they had been lubricated at some point so it's all been pretty grimey. Have ordered new coil sleeves for all coils and a new coil stop for the right hand flipper as it was almost completely flattened.
