Next up is a nice gottlieb Teed Off Pinball. This one has minimal wear to the playfield as most of it is covered in Mylar. A couple of cracked plastics but have been repaired. Needs some bulbs as lots missing. One flipper is a little sticky but not a problem. Has some scrapes to the side of cabinet but all seems to work ok.

This one even has the rare topper as most are usually missing.

£750 cash on collection.

Thanks.

Ok not minimal but easily repaired.
The next lot listed will be Williams so no wear but these will be top money. These are ones i need to clear fast.
Any questions drop me a pm.

Thanks

You need to have your descriptions bang on on here really. People will quite rightly jump on you if you if you say minimal wear to the playfield and then in the photos it looks like someone took a Black and Decker to it!

Thanks for listing the photos for me.
As the wear has had no touch ups before it would make it easier if someone wanted to try their hand at it. As regards descriptions I will try to be more explanatory with future for sake threads.

You can clearly see the wear in the pictures. At the price I’m asking I am making a big loss so just trying to get some money back.

I’m happy to part it out if people need spares.

£400 for boards and dmd.
£150 complete playfield
£150 for topper
£200 for empty cabinet.

Would rather sell complete but if it helps people restore hire machines drop me a pm.

Where are all the people looking projects ? I would think this would be a fairly easy project, just a bit of tlc and your done..
Touching up the wear below the flippers can be easily done and it doesn't effect play anyhow

Don't know about the price as no real knowledge of gottliebs but a working dmd game for under a grand ? Surely at least a decent price ?

Anyway good luck with sale Steve

Far too much.
I bought 17 pins and only a few are in very good condition which are all Williams. These will also be listed shortly. All the gottliebs are in bad condition but working.
I will know better next time.

Thanks Biglan for your kind reply.
Yes they are not great condition but playable.

Thanks
Steve

Thanks for the input but it’s not in valuations it’s for sale.
It’s worth more in parts at that price.

I will reduce it to £750.

I agree where are all the people looking for sub £1000 dmd games. There's been a few listed now. All these would be great starter games for new folk to. A dmd game for under a grand is a good deal these days.

Hey guys,

Going to put this post on a couple of Steves recent FS posts. I went in on him with some of these pins. Super Mario, Tee'd Off and the Nightmare on Elm Street. We are taking a big hit at these prices, but to be honest we're expecting too. The Bally/Williams stuff is in much better shape - this Gottlieb stuff the playfields have taken one hell of a beating.

I think even if it is considered sacrilege to part a working pin out, if it is beneficial to forum members to get a complete spare boardset and DMD for their game, or a cabinet with coin door for a pinmame project, or the transformer and wiring harness to make a test rig - then we may have to go that route.

So to try and get some positive feedback. What would you put the price of the complete boardsets and DMD, Cabinet with coin door and speak panel, wiring harness with transformer and playfield at?

I was thinking something along the lines of

£450 for entire boardset with DMD
£150 for cabinet with coin door, translate and glass, topper etc (EDIT: sorry incorrectly said DMD - it was late and I was tired).
£90 for transformer with wiring harness
£200 for playfield

Does that seem fair? Would that help the cream of these machines keep going with loads of spares? What's everyone think?

Each of these machines come with two DMD's do they? Is that how we're valuing pinball machines now? As scrap dealers? Here's what I think; Your descriptions are laughably inaccurate and your prices are cloud cuckoo. A 'cream' Tee'd Off is worth about £1000 on it's best day. Nobody wants them. And you're trying to get close to that for a barn find project with a knackered playfield. A nice example struggled to sell for £600 12 months ago...I know prices have gone up but come on, seriously.

Looking forward to seeing these Williams with "no wear"...

Mint gottieb struggle. I had to part out a perfect wipe out 4 years ago as no interest in full working game at 500. On ebay I was being offered 200. Board set sold pinball classifieds in hours for £400. Flipper parts etc are sat in a box as very useful gottieb stock parts and l think the plastics and perfect playfield went to Germany for 100 ish. Someone took cab away for pinmame project . I'm sure you will do much better with the Williams games.

I had not realised my descriptions were so bad. A picture speaks a thousand words which is why the description includes pictures. These have been offered up on the forums rather than eBay so people can buy projects or help keep their machines going.

For the record the dr who Pinball we have the playfield is pretty much mint. Pictures will be posted by Alpha 1.

All we are trying to do is sell some of the machines we don’t want to keep so please only reply if your interested in buying or want to ask questions drop me a pm.
For the record the Addams family that came with them has some wear but luckily not as bad as the gottlieb so I guess lucky in that respect.
Happy new year and all keep on playing Pinball.

Thanks Steve Brum.

I think the best we can do is break one pin for parts and list them as we know they are working.

Interesting conversation it seem people don’t seem to be that interested in projects these days as I have listed a few over the past year with not much interest don’t know why maybe that there are less people out there theses days with the skill set to be able to repair them but my gut feeling is that people buy with the intention they don’t want to loose money not the element of enjoying the challenge of getting it up and running and looking nice I always find it very satisfying when you bring an old ****ta back to life

Back to the post Steve people are keen as mustard and if they see something that is not right love to give you it but in all fairness the pins are really ruff you don’t post often on here so people don’t know who you are gots are not popular over here particularly the later ones you would struggle to sell a really nice working one of any title for a grand on here also the fact that parts are poorly obtainable didn’t help describing minimal playfield wear and cabs have knocks and scuff is clearly wrong they are batered buying from ops over seas is a massive gamble that’s why I only ever offer scrap value for them it only take one missing park you can’t buy or a rotten cpu or board missing and you profit is gone also the fact that you list the Williams ones as nice then post for parts that are missing gives the impression they are not
I will look next week for the taf parts you need I probably have them all

I agree with steve p (brums) comments that you are going to struggle with the gottlieb games listed so far here as they aren't popular titles from the system 3 set unfortunately. If you have a Stargate then that might fair better. You may find newbies looking for cheap games though that could be interested as sub £1k for a dmd game is not a bad deal. Europe is probably the best place for parted out system 3 spares, as they are more popular over there.

I would says though to any newer forum members don't be put off by project games. They can be some of the most rewarding games you'll get. For me personally fixing games, solving faults is whats it all about

Hi,

There's no need to be so venomous in your response to me dude. It was late and I incorrectly said DMD twice. I have edited DMD to correctly state what I meant.

Steve has rushed his description of this and I am trying my best to honestly state what I think it should be and yes how to recoup some money back. No one is going to do a playfield swap on a Tee'd Off - so if it is scrapped then it's sad but so be it.

Let's be honest here on one hand you're saying it's scrap and on the other you're chastising me for offering to part it out. Make up your mind. Say something positive.

Thanks for that comment - it's honest but polite and that's appreciated.

And thanks for that comment also, With these ones it is what it is, if they get parted then so be it but if they can be sold for less than the current some of their parts for someone to restore then that's even better.

Bulk deals always means rough with the smooth as sellers especially ops don't like cherry pickers. Sometimes with rough projects ebay is the only option with a 99p start but you risk a game selling low say the wipe out for 200 and then the buyer smashing it to pieces and listing the good stuff on ebay a day later. I once sold a faded dead display Dr Who which floundered at 400 and the next day the topper boards mini playfield etc were on ebay at daft prices.
