Gottlieb freeplay

So my gottlieb Excalibur needs to be set on free play. On another thread someone suggested simply connecting the coin detection wires to the game start button wires so that every time a game is started a credit is added. I like the concept. It seems simple enough. Before I go ahead and have a go, any advice/recommendation on how to go about doing it?
