Ghostbusters Flipper Gap

Just enjoy playing it, and get lots of practice in. Ive found if I spend a lot of time playing my GB Pro that i play better on my other pins

I have a GB in LE flavour and I got it just as the latest code dropped so I can’t comment on its brutality pre code.
My take is yep the gap on the flippers is wide and it can still it is a little brutal but the ball save written into the latest code addresses the situation well IMO.
Would I fit that downward post mod? Never! Would I put longer flipper bats on it? Only if someone could convince me the game is better in all ways with them.
By that I mean would it make that lower right shot into the subway possible as it’s tricky to start with!
Also would it alter the speed off the end of the flipper into a bullet like projectile making you having to mess around compensating in the menus. These and other things I’m unqualified to answer and can think of at the moment.
The way I see it at them moment is it’s a great game with awesome thumping soundtrack and still the best world under glass so far IMO.
Oh and they not cheap are they bloody hell!
So go ahead you GB owners buy some and convince me please.

Did you get it new @Colywobbles - lucky man snagging an LE 👍
Nope I asked ChrisB if any came up give me a shout and eventually one did. As usual when dealing with Chris It was better than NIB had lots of mods inc ColourDMD and best of all the elusive Stern Topper.
I was almost tempted to move on with TMNT dropping but I’m holding my passion till the NPS dies down a little, QC issues addressed and more importantly I’ve had a good play of it in person.

replacing the flippers with longer ones will put the geometry out
I've heard this before, but I wonder what the actual net experience will feel like and whether it will be detrimental.
I'm certainly no mathematician.....
But how does the geometry go out if perhaps it wasn't absolute in the 1st place? - Thinking about all the airballs etc... too
Does anyone know if the the game designer fully intended the big gap and mathematically equated the shot angles to all target positions?
Or was it an Oh **** moment once in production.........

Fitted the ribbed flippers. It doesn't alter the geometry as it describes the same arc. Didn't make a whole hell of a lot of difference.

I raised the flipper tips just a few mm, Im still pants but the gap looked smaller. Geometry is something to get used to, same 2 flippers can still make all the shots....on a good day!

The gap is definitely problematic, mine used to drain like crazy from any bricked shots (of which there were many) to the left. Slimer used to love slinging it SDTM as well although the new code might help with that ball save wise. Personally I would leave it as nature intended as I'd want my scores/shots to be comparable with others games. To me it's like Drac, it's meant to be that way. GB sure is a savage at times though, one of the few games I've had that feels genuinely unfair!

The gap on my GB Prem isn't too brutal; as per Collywobbles I got mine with the latest code, but I think the default ball save is maybe even a tad generous. When the ball does go down the middle, I feel the only person to blame is me - should have made the shot better or nudged earlier.

Having said that, this comes after 6 months of playing Wonka and its killer left outlane, so anything that goes down the middle feels like a blessing these days
