Flipper/slingshot rebuilds

I've got 2 flipper rebuild kits for my SS. What position do people have the pf in when they do it? Right up or on the rails?

Also the slings are a bit sloppy. How do I go about sprucing them up?

Playfield removed and upside down/horizontal when I did mine.

Pull playfield out as far as it goes. Remove entire assembly. Rebuild flipper and screw back into place. That's how a newb like me does it

That's how I do it most of the time because I usually replace the through playfield flipper bushing too ( which doesn't come with a standard flipper rebuild kit - it should! )
