FLIP FLOP COMPARATORS HELP NEEDED

hi all,
Got an on site repair to do tomorrow...need a dm74ls374n cmos flip-flop I.c. I only have cd74hc374e
In stock is this ic comparable? The cd74 is 3 state positive triggered but I do not know the details of the original dm74.....any help much appreciated...or my customer will just have to wait a week or two whilst I order new stock...

It's the LS v HC that is the important bit and I thnk that they're not compatible. It depend on which circuit but I'm guessing WPC driver board...?

I think I have some but need to check...

I know for example on SC (backboard) that they are fitted with one type, however the comparable CD variants , whilst almost being identical according to the data sheets, just didn't work!
Luckily found a cheap source of the originals (at £1 each instead of the £4 most places wanted), and that fixed the issue[emoji38][emoji106]

LS in the id number is Low Signal having asked another member earlier on today as for HC no not got a clue

Yes unfortunately just a bit too far.....for those interested...not completely comparable...the hc means high current.
So I am going to wait on some I ordered tonight..thanks for your replies......
Oh and ian personally I prefer Crockett & jones or George cleverley......

You guys making up words

LS = Low power Schottky
HC = High speed CMOS

TTL/Schottky and CMOS are not compatible as the voltage thresholds of the logic states are not the same.

HCT is close enough to LS in most cases, but HC definately not unfortunately

Surely LS = Low (power) schottky, which is fast (not FAST)

Thread conclusion.
(As my pet hate is going on a forum for an answer to a simple question....and 1) it's full of sarcasm and waffle. 2) the question is never answered and thread left open!)

So put simply so in a nutshell a cd74hc374e is not a comparable replacement for the dm74ls374n used in this case on a wpc power driver board.......thanks for all your advice.
