Fitting rubber ring on post hints

Just rerubbering TZ, and keep splitting the tiny rubber rings (bumpers) that are meant to go on metal posts as I slide them on.

Is there some trick to getting them on over the widest bit of the post like warming the rubber up or lubricating it with windolene or something like that that I should be employing?

Thanks!

I'd be a bit concerned that if they keep splitting the rubber might be a bit old and beginning to perish (you know how really old rubbers eventually just dry out and crumble). I just give the post a little lick before slipping the rubber on (OMG, how many double entendre comments is that going to generate...)

So, Superbands are available as flipper, posts and small rings. Anybody know if, other than transparent, they are available in those colours in other ring sizes?

I like Superbands a lot. Feel great on the flippers and very easy to clean. Wipe clean as @Monkeyboypaul says.

Depends where you get the post rubbers from. I have two main suppliers of rubbers, and the mini post rubbers supplied by each differ. The ones I don't stock have a small hole and the compound is not as stretchy so they easily split. I only stock the post rubbers from the other supplier that has a larger hole and a less fragile compound.

They're just polyurethane aren't they?

Don't feel quite like real rubbers to be honest, but they do wear better. Not that's any reason to not rotate your rubbers!

Yes, I believe they are polyurethane. Makes great skateboard wheels ;) Normally I'm a bit oldschool. Tend to prefer the mid-SS era and lamps over LEDs, etc., but I'm very sold on Superbands. I like the glossy transparent look that doesn't get that grotty black dirt on it and just wipes clean. They also don't shed rubber dust. I'd happily go Superbands/polyurethane everywhere but it seems that rings are only available in transparent, unlike flippers, mini-posts and mini-rings.

My fishy paper has just arrived - thank you for the super effort and packaging.
