Fish Tales - missing GI - FIXED

Thought I'd put this up for future reference as I hadn't experienced it before and could save someone time and head scratching.

Turned on FT, found only 1 string of GI was working in the backbox. None on the playfield.

All fuses fine. Reseated J120/121/115/ribbon cable from CPU to driver.Checked voltages at J115 - all showing around 7 VAC so knew power was getting to the board.

Seemed weird that suddenly 4 out of 5 strings would disappear.

Swapped in ribbon cable (CPU to driver board) from another game. Bingo - All working again !

Just goes to show how a ribbon cable can cause a multitude of problems.
You did well to find the problem as its not one of the first things I would have looked at.
