Fish tales - fish repair

The topper fish is damaged. Where the striker plate meets the rubber, the rubber has torn ....




Is there a good way to repair these please ?

Buy a replacement fish - are these any good ?

Use a bigger metal strike plate ?

Glue something inside the fish to strengthen it ?

Big washer on the onside of the fish would be easy to do

Actually, what glue would even stick to this rubber fish ?, as i would like to strengthen this split if i can

Give me a PM tomorrow and I will see what we have at work.
We make and sell silicone and pvc prosthetic cosmetic gloves. You should be able to make a decent patch out of one.

Thanks Andrew. Made me wonder, bike inner tube repair glue ? This is on the inside so will not be seen

I'll check with the guys in the silicone department what is the best glue to use.

I bought a new fish about £40 from M O P
I do not know if it is on par with an original ,sorry ,
But one thing I do know is bolting that plat on was a bitch !

A PU adhesive like "Tiger Seal" would stick that together no problem
