Hi all,

I'm looking for my first real pin, I've been looking at games tirelessly online, but I think I've narrowed my search down to 3. The ones that I think would be just in my price range would be pro versions of the above.

I'd be happy to hear anyones advice / suggestions though. 😀

I can't comment on Foo but the other two I have a fair bit of experience on. Both games are very well integrated to the theme. Metallica has cracking sound effects and the music. Godzilla makes excellent use of the movie assets. Both are also pretty funny - Godzilla has some genuinely laugh out loud moments.
In terms of beginner friendliness I'd say Godzilla. It's very clear what you have to do at all stages of the game and you're never left wondering where that extra 100 million came from! Metallica is pretty cryptic rules-wise but once you understand it there is a load of score maxing and stacking of modes to think of. Both games' main features are hidden behind a right scoop shot but once you get to grips with that it's no bother.

My personal preference is Godzilla as I don't like the bashy shots on Metallica. Godzilla is a safer shooter.

I'd say in summary - Metallica will keep you occupied longer if you like learning cryptic rules (which I do). Godzilla is more straightforward but still has a lot going on and it's just a little bit more fun for me.

with your selection of games you can’t go wrong. I’ve had all 3 and 2 still reside here albeit in LE flavor namely GZ and MetR.
Foo is a great game too especially if you a fan of the band and their music and probs the best Pro version out of your selections.
That’s my take anyways.

Iv'e only played Metalica in New York but loved it and I am not into heavy metal,..apart from Lemmy & Hawkwind, Silver machine lol...Good hunting though.

All three are great pins, all good in their own ways. Godzilla great all-rounder, Foo is all about flowing around the playfield, Metallica is more straightforward rules-wise with lots of multiballs but always with the potential to kick your butt with magnets throwing the ball wild and lots of fast action.

I don’t think there is one specific game to start with as time will guide you
One of my first purchases was GZ prem and i still have it.
But then ive tried lots of others and like them too. Go check some out at the new birmingham club perhaps ?

Yeah I went to pinball factory this weekend, its awesome there!! Bit overwhelming because for lots of the titles, it was the first time seeing them in the flesh. Also I'm very aware lots are out of my price range. Wanted to try GZ, as id tried a game at alton towers of all places, but it was down at pin factory this weekend. I'm also curious about judge dredd also, but that one was also down.. plenty of great games though, Black Knight is amazing visually but brutal for a noob like me 🫣

Hi
I'm a member at The Pinball Factory and am based in Lichfield (not far from you) and currently have a rental MET at home.
So is you fancied popping round to have a go on MET and chat about first pins (the MET rental is my first at home) DM me and we can look to sort something.

Metallica is amazing (if you love the music too) but I would go with a GZ Pro over an OG Metallica, but a Metallica Remaster over anything else but obviously that’s a big jump in price.
I loved Foo Fighters despite not liking the band but…. that stupid Alien (Overlord) voice all the time just drove me mad so I sold it.

Thanks Andy, both of those games really appealed to me in different ways. A GZ pro has come up that I'm pursuing now and I'm super excited about this game 😄
