Irrelevant, its how much was generated. How much did you export?![]()
Irrelevant, its how much was generated.
The old Fit is paid for generation and assumed 25% export.
So if he generated 40 KWh it would be 40 x 74.37p and 10 x 5.25p
I think this was announced and in the media a while ago that they were planning on making the change.Anyone else on Octopus Go Intelligent get the email about them dropping the car charge anytime at 7p being removed, it will just be the usual 11pm to 5am cheap rate.
Won’t effect me too much but did find it charging the car throughout the day quite useful if I had gone out for a longer drive in the morning.
I have it charging my batteries in the evening as well which mostly covers the day depending on how much the hob and oven get used.
I am on this tariff and didn’t see that so thanks for the heads up. We usually plug my wife’s car in when see gets home at 7pm and it creates a schedule for the cheap rate time so not sure if that’s the same thing?Anyone else on Octopus Go Intelligent get the email about them dropping the car charge anytime at 7p being removed, it will just be the usual 11pm to 5am cheap rate.

Found the email.Wasn’t it that you only get a maximum of 6hrs EV charging at the reduced rate? Some people were gaming the system by asking for 100% charge at 2pm ‘by midnight’, so effectively creating an off peak window of about 2pm to 5:30am! They got wise so closed that down.
Likewise we only pull from the grid between 2330-0530 now. A single Tesla Powerwall just handles everything BAU and we shift all the heavy appliances to that window. Storage heaters, dishwasher, washing machine, cars, UFH, battery, etc it can soon add up in winter!

Iv only had this happen twice since April so for me very very rare and the car is plugged in everyday. Luckily for me I just use the 3litre petrol for the day as hybrid and have a bit of funworst thing is when it fails to charge the f ing car over night and then you are screwed the next morning… electric cars are a pita
I’d never had trusted it to work by 12am lol
Glad I’m still old school
My wife is a midwife and was given discounts/incentives by the nhs to get an electric car ~2 years ago . We had to have a charger installed at home because the hospital where she works has no chargers…Iv only had this happen twice since April so for me very very rare and the car is plugged in everyday. Can you code the charger to by pass the schedule if nothing has been set by say 3am and just force charge (full rate but better than nothing?)My wife is a midwife and was given discounts/incentives by the nhs to get an electric car ~2 years ago . car has failed to charge multiple times overnight leaving her only option to go to expensive supermarket or petrol stations on way to work
Charger itself broke and had to be replaced. Took 2 weeks to sort out no charging was possible during that tine
In summary I don’t recommend an electric car
I hate being in a supermarket car park at 10.30pm at night trying to get a charger to work and save her from the stress at 6.30am.. and that’s not a 1 off
Scheduled wise we set it for it maximum window ie to 5.30am because we don’t trust the f ing thing to work ..![]()
Not sure. to be honest i dont want to mess with it as i dont want to have to sort it out anymore than i already do , got enough broken things to fix daily as it is lolCan you code the charger to by pass the schedule if nothing has been set by say 3am and just force charge (full rate but better than nothing?)
I know the feeling, every “smart” device all made to make our life “more convenient” seam to cause more issues than convenience sometimesNot sure. to be honest i dont want to mess with it as i dont want to have to sort it out anymore than i already do , got enough broken things to fix daily as it is lol
Yep bingo! Is it an OHME charger Jim? on the groups I'm on it's usually an OHME charger I read about failing to charge with intelligent go.

Yeah imagine if it was full electric like we have here...I just wait until the next evening for a charge or might get lucky and it will charge today at some point, but yeah if I need to go out I’ll just use up the petrol at 30mpg or whatever it is lol
I’m not quite ready for a full electric yet… maybe next car![]()
Smart devices / internet connected things aren't made to make your life more convenient though, they were made for the benefit of the company who sells them: so they can harvest data about you to exploit themselves or sell, or charge you more for features that used to be free, or brick your device when they want you to buy a new model, or stop you from servicing/repairing the equipment yourself, etc. This en****ification you're seeing - things becoming harder to use, things that used to work fine "breaking" - is on purpose.I know the feeling, every “smart” device all made to make our life “more convenient” seam to cause more issues than convenience sometimesall devices are getting a little to complicated these days.
