ok so this is my first pinball machine so I'm a noob and trying to learn and I have a problem that I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out on my own but can't so need help bad right so my pinball was working fine I was in the middle of a game when my ball drained the ball count did not go down so I manually made it go down via ball count unit in the back box to game over so I could start it up fresh and see if it would work again but when I tried pushing the start button it reset the score reels and everything but it still said game over and the ball count did not go up to 5 like it should and I have not idea what's causing any of this and I can not read schematic's before you say look at one I've tried to learn how to read them and I can't so that's why I'm asking you guys

I'm not familiar with this specific game but if the ball count unit isn't working at all then is it as simple as a wire coming off one of the solenoids on the unit? If it's not that then is there anything else that looks wrong with the ball count unit?

OK I'll look again but didn't spot anything last time

It's because sometimes you have a forum member who is more knowledgeable who lives in the same town, and might be able to assist in sorting it out, usually in return for the price of a cuppa and a chat :D

Nothing more sinister :)

Cos if you're anywhere near me I'd offer to come over and help. I don't put myself forward as particularly clever, but I restored one well-bashed EM to fully working and I've kept another going for a few years now.

Or if not me then maybe if you're near anyone else they might offer to help.

The thing is, your problem could be caused by lots of things, it isn't easy to guess what's wrong from just your description.

If there's nothing obviously wrong with the ball count unit that you can see then I'm afraid you probably will need to resort to the schematic. They'll be a switch or relay (or a number of them) that activates to tell the ball count unit to count up or down and it could be a problem with one of them. Another thing to check is use a multimeter to see if power it getting to the ball count unit's solenoids. If it's getting power then it's likely a problem with the unit, if it's not getting power then your issue lies elsewhere

OK will try that also thanks

Yh I know it could be lots of things but thought I'd ask just in case coz you never know

I'm not getting anywhere this only started happening coz I unscrewed the ball count unit to clean the contacts and all I know is when I press the start button it won't do anything unless I unlatch the game relay then the button works and it resets but it stays at game over if I manually advance the ball count unit the game works but the reset solenoid on the ball count unit stay's stuck on but when I put a nail file between the 3rd switch down on the game over relay the reset solenoid on the ball count unit releases. that's all I know what's happening with don't know if that means anything

I've got a Palooka so might be able to help, but no time today.

You still haven't said where you are located

wow really that's didn't think many would have it coz there's only 700 made and that's coz there's no point in saying where I live coz I'm just asking for peoples opinions on the matter coz the people on pinside didn't have a clue

nobody is trying to scam you or burgle your house, dude. It's just a matter of being friendly, a social more.

HMS Belmarsh perhaps then. Or somewhere they don't have any grammar.

Sometimes you just have to doff your flat cap to @cooldan , lyrical eminem of the forum .....

2 mins 45 on the vid ....

I'm like a head trip to listen to
'Cause I'm only giving you, things you joke about with your friends
Inside your living room
The only difference is I got the balls to say it in front of y'all
And I don't gotta be false or sugar coat it at all
I just get on the mic and spit it, and whether you like to admit it (rip)
I just sh1t it better than 90 percent of you rappers out there

What are you in prison or something? what's the big secret! seems bizarre lol

Wouldnt it have just been easier to say "Peckham" or wherever? It's not like someone will hunt you down or the like... :D

Ahh well... Here come the wolves.... ;)

Like I said it don't matter where I live and don't see why you wanna know so bad

I don't want to know! couldn't care less just find it strange it's such a secret, you won't get much help being so obstinate. Good luck fixing it!

Just so we're clear, it was working OK before you cleaned these contacts? If so (and assuming you did not clean/adjust/touch anything else at the same time or since?), maybe you have just accidentally adjusted a switch that should be normally-open to closed, or a normally-closed one to open. Can you take some high-res, good quality photos, from several angles (i.e. so we can see which switches are open or closed), of the parts you cleaned, and post them in this thread. Maybe someone can work out if there is a problem with the switches by comparing that to the attached schematic (from IPDB). I think you need to get the machine to a totally reset position before taking the photos, otherwise it will be very hard (if not impossible) for anyone to help you remotely.

Also, and I don't mean to be harsh, please use a few commas, full stops and capital letters in your messages. They are really hard to understand when it's just one long stream of text that should actually be four of five sentences.

yh the game was working mostly fine before I did anything. and I didn't do anything else besides cleaning the contacts on the unit but I did move the wiper so I could get to all the contacts. but I do have to pull the machine out so I can get to the backbox so maybe moving it did something to something else. I've got it in a reset position. I can reset it but it still says game over coz the ball count unit don't advance. and I've had a close look at all relay in bottom of cab and all the switch's have enough space between them and nothing is shorted but not being able to read schematics I have no idea what switch's are meant to be open or closed. no I don't have a good camera only one on my tablet sorry
