Think he was lucky to get a bid, Rogers minty made 5.6k, I thought 3.5 would be realistic for the one just ended, most I would have paid anyway.

With the influx of new manufacturers, supply of new machines must surely be on the increase. As long as people keep buying new machines, supply may soon overtake demand.

Not seeing any of the few used "Newer" Sterns selling yet though - I presume 5k is too much for a 2nd hand ACDC / Metallica/ X-Men prem?

I suspect it's more a case of those with the money already own one or have their eye on something else (eg new Star Trek)...

That said I've known a couple of recent sales at £5K or greater for AC/DC prem & Metallica so there are buyers out there. :D

Ah fair enough - I'm just seeing them consistantly failing to get any attention on eBay at those prices. I presume the ones you see selling are sales within the community rather than advertised "in the wild" as it were?

Ebay generally generates a higher price than group or forum sales so I would expect that if ebay sellers are failing to get 5k then people in the know on forums etc would expect to pay even less, it may be a combination of looming new releases, a glut of recent Sterns and the price tag, 5-6k is a lot of wonga.

There are a lot of us even with a few years and a few pins behind us who still see any pin over £1000 as a trophy pin. All I want is to buy a nice B game for £1200 and play it for 3 months and then sell it for 1200 again. Or if I find a £500 pin or a £1800 pin then the same, play em for a bit then sell on for the same.

If only. In a perfect world.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221346812619 - "TAF Found in dry storage after 15 years" - That's a new CPU board needed because of the corrosion from the batteries then!!

"We've recently been advised that with around £500 refurbishment costs there would be a final intrinsic value of £5k+ for a table restored to its original glory - especially in the overseas market." - Are you sure?????

This TAF was on before... same [lack of] pictures. The winning bidder obviously didn't follow through. Think it went for £2.2k or thereabouts.

Yup, that is a big no no esp when they only use one stock pic and don't state anywhere that it is a stock pic, the last listing which failed only had the pic in the window, looks rather nice, imagine winning the auction and travelling across the country to collect to find that sorry looking thing on the floor, they did not have any other pics was the reply I got, I said c'mon everyone has a phone these days, seems like they have gone that extra mile on the second listing with a few grainy snaps.

6 years of arcade use could leave plenty of playfield wear depending on where it was located, you would have to view as the pics give nothing away. I think 5k for a non gold TAF would be hard to achieve in stunning condition, keep in mind that the TAF is not safe from the PP remake list.

The one in front of the window even has a different shooter surround to the one on the floor.

It's completely dishonest and riles me up something rotten.

Yup, CV has been on my list for years, passed a few that did not make the grade, one of these days ;)

I read the description on this eBay item:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321288141978&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

and then asked politely about the CV they mentioned....

The reply was:

"This machine has had a full restore by Chad Keller in the US and is therefore going to be priced at a minimum of £ 6 k"
All I can say is - good luck.
